Fire safety: please take a moment to read

Dear guests,

for your own safety and that of all guests in the building, we urgently ask you to observe the following information. It only takes a moment to read and helps to prevent fires and false alarms.

Smoke alarms: very sensitive, please do not touch

Highly sensitive smoke alarms are installed in all apartments and corridors. They detect a fire very early and are therefore an important protection for you.

  • The alarms react to even a little smoke, for example from burnt food, heavy steam or cigarette smoke.
  • Please do not subject the alarms to any mechanical stress: do not hang anything on them, do not cover them, do not tape over them, do not unscrew them.
  • The smoke alarms are not directly connected to the fire brigade. In an emergency, the fire brigade must always be called on 112.

When cooking: window open, apartment door closed

  • Please never let cooking fumes out into the corridor. Otherwise the alarms in the corridor will set off the alarm in the whole building.
  • Instead, open the window in the apartment and switch on the extractor hood.
  • Please never leave the hob or oven unattended.

Smoking: outside only

  • Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas: in the apartments, corridors, stairwells, the lift and the underground car park. This also applies to e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products.
  • Smoking out of an open window is not permitted either. You can smoke in front of the building and on the terraces.
  • In the event of a breach, we charge €250 for special cleaning (Terms and Conditions, section 8.2). If further damage has been caused, we will also charge for its repair.

Candles, power banks and electrical devices

  • Open flames are not allowed anywhere in the building, so no candles, tea lights or incense sticks either.
  • Please only charge power banks and batteries while you are in the apartment and awake – not overnight and not while you are out. Please do not charge them on the bed, close to curtains or in direct sunlight.
  • If our cleaning team notices a power bank charging unattended, we will move it or stop the charging for safety reasons.
  • Please report flickering lights, a smell of burning or damaged sockets and cables to reception immediately, and do not repair anything yourself.

Keep escape routes clear

  • Please do not leave anything in corridors, stairwells or in front of exits, including suitcases, shoes or pushchairs.
  • Fire doors close by themselves. Please never prop them open with wedges or objects.
  • After you arrive, take a quick look at where the escape route runs (green emergency signs) and where the nearest fire extinguisher hangs in the corridor. The complete fire safety regulations are posted on the exit door of the boarding house, on the wall to the left.

If there is a fire or the alarm sounds

  1. Call the fire brigade: 112. The alarm system does not alert the fire brigade automatically.
  2. Set off the house alarm if it is not already sounding: push button at the entrances to the stairwells (blue housing, labelled “Hausalarm”).
  3. Leave the building calmly via the stairwell. Please do not use the lift.
  4. Let other guests know and help people who need assistance.
  5. Wait in front of the building and follow the instructions of the fire brigade. Only go back inside when the fire brigade allows it.

Please take every alarm seriously. You can put out a small fire that is just starting with the fire extinguisher in the corridor, but only if you do not put yourself at risk. If smoke spreads, leave the room immediately: smoke gases can be fatal.

Emergency call 112, please state: Who is calling? Where is the fire? (MLoft Apartments, Wasserburger Landstr. 8, 81825 München, 1st floor, apartment number) What is burning? How many people are affected? Wait for questions. If you have dialled 112 by mistake, please do not hang up, but say briefly that there is no emergency.

The tenant, or the person to whom the apartment has been made available for use, is responsible for compliance with these instructions.

Thank you for helping to keep the building safe for everyone.
